I have been in awe of @robec ’s coins and photos ever since I joined CoinTalk. It would be an honor to have one (not to mention, three!).

And while my 1946 is darned nice, either one of the above would still be nicer!

On the 55-D dime SNAFU: Used to be...maybe still is, with at least one if not both of the BIG-2 TPGs...that on crossovers (and also similar on regrades) the submitter can request NO HOLDER (DO NOT HOLDER) if the coin is not going to straight grade at either the same level, or grade at a minimum grade stated, not to exceed the current grade in holder. The coin is returned as submitted, still in it's current holder (and minus a grading fee, of course). Something very similar to that. Anyone in the current "know" on this care to comment, confirm, correct...? Appreciate it...thanks...!

Good question. I don’t know. I’ve always been of the “crack it out before sending it off to another TPG” school of thought. Only this year did I attempt my first true crossover, of an NGC coin to PCGS. It flopped - failed to cross. At least I still have it in the original NGC slab and not a PCGS “details” holder.

So I burned a PCGS grading voucher only to have them essentially say, “Nope, no cross for you, fella- thanks for the money, though!” But those are the breaks. At least the fallback position is better with true crossover than with crack-n’-submit. You return to the status quo antebellum with the original holder intact.

Holy cow! Many thanks, @robec. I have one slabbed coin - a Weimar republic. This would be something new and interesting for me.

And, as usual, thank you, @lordmarcovan for your time and efforts!

Thanks to @robec for the coins and Rob for the contest work (I tried to make the entry as clear as possible Rob, as I know old eyes need all of the help they can get. LOL)
Really a bummer on the attempts to have the dime cross over. Too bad.
