    Adorable cats btw:)
I have a few gold coins stashed away in my dads closet. But I would be interested in the gold coin.
    Good luck everyone!

I never owned any gold. I did have a $2.50 gold piece in my possession that I was holding for my daughter as a gift from her grandmother when she passed.

    For prizes B & C I would choose:

United States: bronze 2-cent piece, 1865

With some folks showing off their fur babies, I believe I'll join the crowd! This is my Sammie girl, she'll be 15 in April and I found her in the woods behind my house in Texas when she was approximately 2-3 weeks old. 1207181418 - Copy (2).jpg

No gold for me. Been looking

I really like the style of that token. would look yummy in my box of (less than) 20.
Cool new site. How could I list a little something on my own page? How is the fee structure?

I think I might go for the 2004 D broadstrike. Would be my second ever error. I have a zincoln struck off center somewhere in here.

When I was in Australia I had my own landscaping business and occasionally worked for realtors clearing out houses that the tenants abandoned and left their trash in. My job was to take the trash/items left in the house and dispose of them as I see fit, usually the local 'tip' as we call it, some items I would keep and sell on eBay.

One particular house clean up I walked away with a full set of 6 new DVD's of the Star Wars Series and, amongst other items, a small bag of dress jewellery.

Just before moving to the US I was going through that bag of junk jewellery and noticed one necklace was heavier than expected. 1959 Australian gold Sovereign in a bezel, no marks, in great condition. Wish I knew then what I do now about coins. Sold for a decent price back then ~$350USD (2016)

IF I was to win I'd love the Roman Empire (Gallic Secessionist): bronze antoninianus of Victorinus, Cologne mint, ca. 270-271 AD. Would be my first ancient and I LOVE the look of this baby,

    THANKS!!!

@Evan Saltis - You asked about the hosting site for my new galleries. I highly recommend CollecOnline. It is a quantum leap beyond CollectiveCoin, where my old gallery is located (though the latter is also an excellent and easy to use site, if it weren’t so bedeviled by those slow scripts).

CollecOnline is hosted in France, so it has a bit more of a European feel. You asked about the pricing. They have a perfectly adequate free tier, but I liked the site so much that I’ve decided to migrate my collections and little vestpocket store over there, and actually stepped up to the middle paid tier of 5€/monthly. (I’m a bit of a cheapskate on subscriptions, so if I step up and actually pay to use a site, you know I really like it.)

Since I’m doing the migration manually, a coin at a time, it is a rather slow and laborious process, but I’m looking forward to when the transition is finally complete. The admin there is very friendly and helpful, and responds quickly to correct little errors in translation and stuff like that. The site is perfectly functional for English speakers.

It also includes detailed inventory software and accounting features, and is geared toward collectibles in general rather than just coins (though coins are the primary category and the founder, Loïc, is a collector of Ancients).

You’re welcome. Now, about that bag full of Celtic gold staters you promised me... ;)

(Joking, everyone. I gave that testimonial of my own free will.) :p

I still have the two $10 eagles my dad gave me. He paid $10 each for them when they still circulated.
If I won, I think I would like the Victorinus antoninianus. I have a fascination for the secessionist empire. Can't explain it.

Entry post. I have not had any gold coins in my collection as of yet. And for prize B or C, I’m torn between the 1865 2 cent piece and the 2004-D broadstruck Roosevelt dime.
The kittens are adorable, btw. One of the strays I take care of just gave birth to a litter of 5 fluff balls a week ago. That’s in addition to the other 10 cats I am slave to! And only 2 are mine!

I have now launched the mirror thread (tandem giveaway for this) over on Collectors Universe (CU).

I often do this with my regular monthly giveaways for the members there, as I have made many friends on CU during my 20-year membership there (though I spend most of my time here now).

Basically what happens is that when someone enters over on the CU thread, I will repost an entry here on the CoinTalk (CT) thread on their behalf, so they will be included in the same drawings here.

If they happen to also be CT members, they may post an entry here under their CT credentials, thereby doubling their chances.

You can do this as well, in reverse. If you happen to be a CU member, you may post an entry in the thread over there, and I will tally it here in a post of mine, which gives you one entry from each site.

So in other words, everyone gets a maximum of two entries (one per member per site), if they enter in both places. And each entry counts in all three of the drawings we'll be having this particular month.

This is an extra entry post for Rob9874 on Collectors Universe. It is a makeup entry, since I overlooked his entry on the CU mirror for Giveaway #55 here, while I was absent.

This means he gets this free entry in addition to any he may post on the CU thread for this giveaway or directly here on this CT thread.

I do not presently know if he is eligible for Prize A (the gold). We’ll find out later.

Rob, I am 73 years old and have never owned a gold piece with exception of my wedding band. Thanks for the opportunity.

*Edited by lordmarcovan to make it eligible for Prize A at least. Jim, we still need your Prize B/C pick(s). ~RWS/“LM”

Hi, Jim. That makes you eligible for Prize A, then. If you would, please edit your last post, type “entry post” at the top (never mind- I did that), and add your pick(s) for what you might like if you win Prize B or C. (Have another look at the intro and second post in this thread.)

I deleted your earlier quote post, assuming it to have been technical difficulties.
