Went to the bank to cash a check. I asked them if they had any half dollars or pennies because availableBecause I love pennies. They said because of the shortage there was none they can give me so I asked them if they had two dollar bills they said yes they have $36 worth so I said let me have them all and this is the first one that came out of the stack. not only is it a star note from 1976 it is also misaligned.I don’t know a whole lot about paper money I’m trying to still figure out coins let me know what you guys think?
Fun find. I do the same as you and usually get about that many from my teller. Unfortunately, your bill is in such bad shape, I doubt anyone would pay much over face for it. With currency, condition is EVERYTHING. Looks like someone folded it excessively to hide in a wallet as "mad money," which I did in my younger years when having gas money was king. As for the misaligned cut, it is marginal and probably within BEP tolerances. How does the back look?
I like the fact that it shows part of another note on the top right where it was cut off. That would be a keeper for me also, regardless of condition, at least until if and/or when I found a better one.
Start a new thread. Go to "Forums" at the top, drag down to appropriate area (paper money) and then click on "Start a new Thread." Type a subject and then your question or statement, then click "Upload a File." Pick your photo from your file and upload it. When it uploads, be sure to click on "Full Image" so the photo will show up in the thread. Good Luck.
Start your own thread for this note, provide pix of both sides, and you'll get more and better attention than you will by "hi-jacking" someone else's thread. I will comment on your note if you do that.
