Can someone point me in the right direction for this one? I thought Macrinus but couldn't get the legends to fit. Measures about 24mm across and weighs about 12g. Is it too good to be true?

Definitely Macrinus. Antioch? These were struck at other Syrian/Phoenician coastal cites also, but I can’t read yours.
    Edit: Ocatar…beat me to it.

In Greek, Macrinus is MAKRINOC, which shows up on the right hand side of the obverse legend.

Yes, that was what I had spotted, but when I went to Wildwinds all the legends started "AYT" whereas mine started "AYK M" - and that was when I got confused!

If we can get a handle on the mint, I can probably track it down in RPC.

Ah - now I understand. Subsequent posts had led me to believe the Mint was still in doubt. Thanks for all your help.

AV and AVT are Autokrator. K is Kaisar. M is Marcus. OΠ is Opelius. CEOV is Severus. The same issue will sometimes have dies that abbreviate the same words or omit words differently. Don't make a mistake thinking the guys who made these followed rules created by numismatists when it comes to legends.
