No thanks, to expensive. I’ll stick to pre 1933 gold coins. You get a bigger bang for your buck.

All one has to do is look mat the Mint's price versus the Spot price and it's an easy NO!

That was fast. 3 minutes later already indicating sold out and product unavailable. Never even saw an option to buy

I got 1 of the 1/4 ouncer's, checked out fairly easily. This will be a lower mintage coin at 13,625 coins. :)

Got to "confirm" and "place order" when it told me to "confirm that you're human". I'm using Google incognito and AdBlocker, and apparently that kept it from going through. By the time I disabled those, it was all over. Oh well, just wanted it to flip anyway.

I succeeded in getting a 1/10th ounce, more or less on a whim. Just happened upon the notice and saw the purchase window was opening in 2 minutes.

I tried for the 1/2 oz but didn't get it.

I decided at the last minute to go for the ½ oz. coin. It has the lowest mintage at 12,250. However, only 2,000 were being sold alone. The other 10,250 were part of the 4-coin set, which also sold out promptly. I was lucky to get the coin, and check-out was smooth for a change. I’ll send it to PCGS. Then not sure whether to keep or sell.

New reverse design is OK but doesn’t wow me. Sometimes showing something up-close isn’t a good idea … warts, blemishes and unexpected “features” start to appear. Though, it’s better than the old reverse with its distorted perspective of the eagle’s wings. I like St. Gaudin’s original reverse best. See the pics.

I like it a lot, but the hype is definitely currently overblown for being the first of the new design. I’m fine waiting for that to die off or for next years.

I just looked at the new design today. I liked the old one better. Unless the mint is going to change the design every year, there will be plenty of time to buy the type coins, perhaps for less money if the gold bullion markets calms down.

Roughly calculated, the mint is charging $5,050 for 1.85 ounces of gold. That leaves the melt value at about $3,350. OUCH!

If you want Proof gold, you are better off buying the old commemorative $5 gold coins that no cares about. The premium paid is a lot lower. Some day people won’t care about these coins too.

I wasn't going to bother. Then around 12:30 I decided to see if they were sold out, I saw the 1/10th were BO so I went in to order one.
I had a hard time using my PC with ad blocker so I went to my phone and was able to order one, I also received my order conformation a few minutes ago.
    We'll see what happens.
