When the coin was mine, the 'mappa' was thought to be a purse. In this example, it almost looks like a bell with clapper but I took it for a purse with only one teat.

I bought the Valerian from Don Zauche in 2016. The attraction was it was a Viminacium. I had too many coins of this period and no longer am trying to get all the various mints. I hope it has found a happy home.

Nice coin ... I have some 15 Valerians, but only three, which I assigned to the Viminacium mint, based on style:

    IMP C P LIC VALERIANVS P F AVG // LAETITIA AVGG
    RIC 216

IMP C P LIC VALERIANVS AVG // PIETATI AVGG
    RIC 219A

    Screenshot 2021-07-28 at 08.50.18.png

    Possibly Viminacium
IMP C P LIC VALERIANVS AVG // ORIENS AVGG

I bought this one with an attribution to Viminacium, but I think it is from the Rome mint:

IMP C P LIC VALERIANVS AVG // FIDES MILITVM
    253 RIC 89 var

Congrats ominus , nice coin, looks indeed it has a 30% silver contence.

    Heres another silvery Valerianus:
    P1160793II (3).jpg

and a lower silver contence 20%

    P1160793 (2).JPG

silver contence dropped from 30% in 250 AD to 20% in 260 AD to 5% in 270 AD

Great coins Andres2. If the attribution of your second coin to Antioch is correct, then my first two coins should also be attributed to Antioch rather than Viminacium.

I always wondered why Valerian had such higher silver content than Gallienus, even during their joint rule. You can hardly find a bronze or even billon Valerian; most seem to be rather silver.

here is my most silver one, with Fides Militvm.
Valerian I AR Ant RIC 89.JPG

And my best and most valuable, but MUCH less silver (also only my second example), the Gallienus and Valerian tag team reverse.
