    Hi all

A few days ago I won a lot from Agora Auction's last auction. I then received a message from the Biddr.com platform informing me of the win and recommending a direct checkout with the auction house.
I emailed Mr De La Fe twice and didn't get any answer yet.

Has any of you had issues with this auction house ?

I'm a bit puzzled as I just want to give someone money they seemingly don't care about...

I have been bidding on their auctions for the 3-4 years and have learned to expect....inconsistency. They have always come through in the end but it may take a little while.

I just spent 15 minutes replying and it disappeared …

Any email would have come from us. We do not use biddr for checkout or invoicing. I have been dealing with a family emergency and packing/shipping about 200 invoices but I have been replying to all emails as they come in. Please send me a private message here or call me on my cel: 917-287-5512 with your name and email address and I will get to the bottom of it ASAP.

    Best,

    Hi Chris:

I have been working hard to address all of the deficiencies. Of course, right after I took over COVID hit and it hit my family hard. So I basically was shut down for about 7 months as I and my family recovered. But I will make this commitment:

I will address every single issue as they come in and strive for 100% customer satisfaction. If I drop the ball feel free to call me out on it. I posted my cellular number above, but here it is again: 1-917-287-5512.

I don't think anyone could ask for more. I won 1 lot and, as always am patiently (or impatiently) waiting.

I am plowing through the invoices. As you can imagine prepping and shipping roughly 900 lots and 200 invoices can take a bit of time, but I should have the majority (if not all) paid invoices shipped before end of business today.

I know it's a lot of work. I tried having auctions a couple of years ago. Not near on the scale of yours, but I still got confused when the auctions ended. I gave up since I figure I'm not cut out for this sort of thing. I've made several purchases off Agora Auctions in the past and have never had any problems. Congratulations on a successful auction.

@DeLaFe , is Agora Auctions the same company as Agora Numismatics on V-Coins? The contact information for the latter lists an address in the Netherlands, with Dirk Drijver as the proprietor. Is that also now your company, and will you be filling V-Coins orders placed with it through V-Coins, or is it a distinct company with which you are not associated? If Alfred isn't around, does anyone else know the answer to this question? Thanks.

Thanks. I realize that there are a limited number of possible names that immediately convey an ancient flavor, but it's still a bit confusing when two different numismatics companies pick the same one!

We are Agora Auctions, they are Agora Numismatik or something... There used to be another Agora out of I believe Ireland?

Yes! - there was an Agoracoins in Ireland - Andy Metz. He was on Vcoins for a while, and on eBay for a long time. I bought quite a few coins from him, mainly Greek bronzes - I could win a coin on eBay on Sunday and have it on Monday, very good :)

I don't know what became of him - maybe I'll drop him an email, now that I remember him again.

    ATB,
    Aidan.

I received my Agora wins yesterday, very good experience for me. I’d add the coins were described well and what one would expect in terms of packaging and reference detail. One suggestion I’d make is to go directly to the auction website, instead of using for example BIDDR.
