Hello, I have a 1947 D lincoln cent and it is different colors but not steel. It does not stick to a magnet. Is this a error coin. The coin looks like a 1943 on obverse and reverse is copper but as I said it doesnt stick to a magnet
Hello Renee. Welcome to CoinTalk. I collect Lincoln cents, but I am not an expert in them. I just looked in my US Red Book. I didn't see any varieties for 1947. However, there may be some very rare 1947 varieties, that are not in the US Red Book. I don't know. This is the CoinTalk "Ancient Coins" forum. I recommend, that you post this question, in the CoinTalk "US Coins Forum", with good, large, high resolution photos of both sides of the coin, attached to your post (click the "Upload a File" button). I think, that the CoinTalk "US Coins Forum" has a lot more experts in Lincoln cents, than the CoinTalk "Ancient Coins" forum.
Very common so pretty sure its real,no added value but I still keep every one. It could be 80 year old milk spilled on it for all I know.
