My grandmother gave me this for Christmas and I have no idea what the grade or value is. Please help me figure them out! I don't have a scanner so I tried to do the best I could with a camera. It's in a plastic protector of course I don't see any rips at all but there are some blemishes I guess Sorry about the glare on the 2nd pic Please tell me what you think the grade is based on these (and possibly the value?) Thank you!
Looks to be 1896 Educational $1..I would say "fine". The hard folds and circulation will warrant the grade (based on your images) Nice note. You can go here for pricing archives. www.ha.com RickieB
I have one in about the same condition from my father. It is a great note, and a great rememberance. It is a keeper for sure.
Nice gift from Grandma. I would think twice before you sell it, if you are considering that. Many years ago I sold a silver dollar from my Grandfather, a common coin, I got $7 for it and lived off of a whole chicken and a bag of rice for nearly a week. But I always missed that coin; it was also from his birth year, 1885.
Thanks everyone I would never sell a gift, especially one that looks as nice as this! I'm just curious of what the heck its grade is xD. I'm more of a coin collector so I'm not sure how to grade it
That's a great gift! and a great note too! Check out PCGS' Currency site for their grading scale. It may help you put your note in the right grade range based on some simple descriptions.
