Great looking Morgan. Hammered strike. Would grade 66 easily, if it were any other date.

I always go right for the breast feathers. If they are well struck, the coin is a keeper.

Beautiful but seems a bit high on the price... I got my 64+ not long ago for well under 100.. that guy is asking list for the ms65 which i suppose is fair.. but then he is asking list price when most sellers are asking list+ right now.
1881s's are hard to judge.. it is probably the most harshly graded of all the morgans out there.. That is a very well struck coin, just be careful that your 100% happy with it or you will see a cheaper one tomorrow and kick yourself for it.

because the 1881 s is the most commonly undergraded coin... ever... the fact is the 1881 s is the most common morgan found in high grade is part of this. Your morgan is a beautiful strike, mine is good but compare the "liberty" on yours to mine and you win hands down a 66 easy in my book.. Mine I would call 65 PL but 64+ is all the graders will give it.. I have seen very very few 81s that were not undergraded.. the few exceptions i've seen that were properly graded were in ANACS and ICG holders... This makes it very hard to judge em in my book :D
