1944 wheat penny missing 19

Found this coin in a jewelry box I got at the thrift. Pretty neat huh

Looks like it landed on Omaha Beach on D-Day. Has had a very rough life…Spark

 

Just bad circulation damage. Looks like the 19 in the date took a good hit at some point in the last ~80 years.

 

Poor thing looks like it's been put through the ringer for sure...what a shame.

 

look as if the coin has been struck with a hammer

 

At certain angles it looks like someone tooled or rubbed the numbers off, just my opinion. PMD.

 

With all those horizontal lines, it looks to have been scraped off.

From the title of the thread I thought for sure this would be a grease filled die. Then after looking at the coin it absolutely looks tooled. Conclusion IMO it is PMD. NAV (No Added Value).
