close it is carbide I suppose it could be called an insert... it is a 6 sided carbide cutting blade for a milling/cnc machine. we used very similar at TCA when i worked there
Insert is correct. They mount on the end of a tool bar that mounts on the machine. Before they made these they would weld the carbide to the bar.
