I was just wondering something I've been collecting coins for quite awhile now I just really got started in errors and varieties I love the hunt I collect coins buy getting them buy the bank rolls. I don't collect but older coins sometimes I will collect up to about a 86 but I do look at all the memorial coins for errors and varieties. The shield Penny's I really don't keep none of them I've heard people finding certain dates that are error coins but really not enough over site to catch my eyes. The big reason I took the time to write this and I hope everyone can understand what I'm saying. One of my favorite coin is the 1959 or the 1959d is one of my favorite coin. I was wondering why is it so hard to find seems like I have a better chance in finding a 1944 wheat Penny's than the 1959 they had a high mintage I'm pretty sure. Did people really take these coins out of cirlation or what I can find anything but the 59 only comes around once In a blue moon I was just wondering what the deal is. I do know a little bit it was the first coin to be introduced to the memorial building plus I here this coin is really hard to find in very high grade I believe that. I'm not saying I don't have any cause I found a pretty nice brown piece this morning I have it in red I have it in red brown to. It is just the lack of them I know everybody don't think they have a 59 in mint shape I was just wondering that or am I the only person that feels that way. They may not made it were I'm from but seems like the wheat Penny's are plentiful and there worth more over all on the coin itself about every wheat pennies are worth 15 to 20 cents a piece in bad shape that is any wheat Penny's I understand that the 59 has a nice price tag but overall most people are going to throw the 59 back before the wheat Penny's at least that is what I am thinking. I just thought I would throw that out there might not make no sense at all to some people but I really can't get a straight answer about it. If anyone has any info on this I would love to hear about it I love a little history about these coins that I'm not finding thanks to all that read what I was talking about.
I have both the 59 and the 59 D...I think my penny collection is probably the most complete out of all the different coins I collect and both of them are in really good shape. I looked it up on the internet to see if they were hard to find in circulation and I couldn't get anything back in my searches except stuff that had nothing to do with what I asked. Sorry Bentley...I tried.
Wheat cents are worth about three cents each in average condition. 1959 cents are worth one cent each. There were millions made.
I know they were millions made but I see them like only a thousand was made maybe they just ant that many got drop in my area. I have both and there In good shape but I had to go through some rolls to find them. I didn't buy mine or nothing like that I try to at least put a set up that is MS condition at least a 60 or better or I don't want it. Not less it's a error or a varieties something I think you love old coins for doing research on it I can't figure it out if you go through rolls ever day you will know that there is a coin that will stand out more than most that you never see like I said I found one this morning. I might not see another in 20 rolls maybe more than that before I see another.
I just put $423.00 worth of Cents and nickels in the bank that I was saving for the grandkids, They didn't want them soooooo I put them in my bank account lol. You'll find lots of 1959' s in there I am sure.
I will you will be the first to no southern Man 189 than I don't have a clue were too go from there I'm sure you will point me in the right direction I Heard of some one finding one I would love to find one just one time that is all you would think a man would run into another one buy now I only no of one. Be nice it was a high mint grade to just go all out never no one could ever beat.
I have never heard of one being found but I am sure they are out there. To be honest, all these years of looking at coins it never occurred to me to look at the time for a "wheatie" 1959. As a kid I was always on the look out for the "copper 1943 cent" that was on the back of every comic book, back in the 60's .
You no what I never new anything about no 1943 copper penny didn't know nothing about it it's all the same too me when I even got a ideal how much they were even worth anything I didn't know nothing about theses coins when I was little I was just collection them and putting them up that is all I done for a long time even the silver coins and One of my favorite buffalo nickels I wish I knew all the dates on my coins I give anything to find out what the dates were on theme they say there is a way but it ruins the coin I don't want to ruin the coin there not in bad shape just the date is gone ever think else is there so I don't know I have had some of these for years and then I found some traded for some.
I heard of one that is how they come up with a mule coin it has wheat back on it and the rest of the coin is the same. I read about one person having it said he supposed to gave like a little bit of money for it I can't remember I hate to just put anything and it be a lie seems like the guy give 1400 hundred dollars for it as soon as he Saw it he thought at first it was a joke coin but he bought it and got it send off I reckon it's the real deal they do not understand how it happened they only thing they can come up with is a worker was messing around he did this on purpose no they would be worth a lot of money one day so the guy that took a chance on it. It happens to be the real deal when he sent it off but it is the real deal you know he could make a bunch of money on this coin only got 14 or 1500 hundred for it the best money he ever spent now I read about it southern Man not less I dreamed about it but im about percent that he had one. I'm very doubtful that there is another one I would say that is the only one out there that is what I think they know what they were doing when they did that.
The '59 is plentiful but often hard to find. I keep all wheaties through 1982 but very few Zincolns. The '59's are out there Bentley, keep searching, good luck.
You may be right plus we could be reading different things about it I thought they found it to be the real deal maybe they didn't come up with nothing or they don't know but we all know this is what they do for a living they have to know if it is a good coin or junk but that will be hard to say it ant what they see the front side like a 59 should look like and then you flip it over and you have a wheat Penny back with the wheat ears the stalk on each side the E Pluribus Unum on the top were it's post to be. But you could be right maybe they ant made there mind up about it but like I said that would be hard to say it ant I mean it is on the back of the coin any thing can happen during a big
I finally found one last night not in to bad off shape it was a 1959 first I found one of them in a while most the time it's a 1959d
Actually BILLIONS, not millions. Unbelievable amounts year after year, and now they're trying to tell us there's a shortage of coins? Go figure!
Is this some kinda joke or are you being real for free I will take the most awesome coin out there I love them something about it.
