hey everyone, bought this on eb*y. it measures 21.46mm, all the info i founds states it should be 21.56mm. my digital scale is broke so i used an analog one that measures to .5g , the needle stopped to what looked like 8.2g - 8.3g. any opinions? there is a PCG* article that states the $5 indian is about the third or fourth most counterfeited gold coin. this is from the philly mint and the mintage numbers are just above 900,000. so it's doesn't seem rare enough to be counterfeited, but you never know.

hard to say with the pictures you posted. We need something muuuuch bigger. Counterfeits can be so well done that it requires the sharpest eyes to pick them out. Try posting them on your photobucket account and then give us a link to the pics.

If you really like the coin, I would strongly consider sending it to PCGS for certifcation. Even if it has been cleaned and comes back in a "PCGS Genuine" slab, then at least other people will know its genuine of you decide to sell it.

    Just my humble 2c.
