You're insulting everyone in the coin community by posting your troll garbage. GET OUT NOW and hide in your troll cavern. Oh, and here's a smiley face for good measure:
so how long does this kind of hijacking usually go on before the troll gets kicked off the site? thanks for the two posts that actually refer to the coin I posted.....
As it stands now gentlemen - the so called troll has done nothing wrong. However, some of our members are breaking rules left and right. Now which way would you rather have it ? Our respected members getting infractions by the bucket full for rule violations ? Or would you prefer to keep your mouths shut ! I am dealing with it. So let me. And ignore him in the meantime. Or suffer the consequences - your choice.
Niko Troll....please read carefully..... Main Entry: fer·rous Pronunciation: \ˈfer-əs, ˈfe-rəs\ Function: adjective Etymology: New Latin ferrosus, from Latin ferrum Date: 1851 1 : of, relating to, or containing iron 2 : being or containing divalent iron
That will be enough - Niko need not be mentioned any longer. Do all of you understand ? Not on this thread, nor any other.
now the new camera and two lights cost waaaaaay more than the coin I wanted to photo.....but I like taking pictures and posting them almost as much as I enjoy collecting coins..
That photo is great. You did a really good job of capturing that die crack. So how did you set up your lights? I'm trying to set up a coin photography area right now.
thanks...Here is basically how I set up for this coin, I also used a flash with a piece of paper in front of it to keep the glare off the holder...you should use the search tool on the forum....there are lots of great threads about taking and posting pics....
I take my photos with a floor lamp that I move around so that I have sufficient lighting on the coin, but none that reflects off the coin and causes glare. I just put my coin on a paper or table and take the lamp and move it around until I see I can take a good shot. My photos come out like this: And some colors I wish some coins had:
very nice photos.....usually I don't need the whole set up, but for some reason I was having a really hard time with this dime...especially since I was trying to capture the toning and the die crack
imrich -- i suggest you read the entire thread, and then consider editing your post before a moderator comes this way.
An Understanding Thank you for the words of guidance, and correction notice, which I believe has resulted in a proper response, but will defer to others' more constructive words. Well Done!!
Aside from all that Rust stuff, bigipst: a few questions for you. Is it the photo or is that a sort of double line on the rim? Not real common on Mercury Dimes but very common on Roosevelt Dimes and Lincoln Cents. Appears on front and reverse also. Another oddity. Usually those are only on one side on the ones I've seen. I've got well over 3,000 Mercuy Dimes and none are like that one. Nice find. PS for the rust people. It is also a Parasitic Fungi called Uredinales living on plant tissue. Wonder what that would look like on a coin?
