She is their best customer. The cashier manager set them aside for her.

Unfortunately not. I'm the lucky one at playing. She has to twist my arm to go save the day. One and done. 20210630_211111.jpg

Some more questions ? Did your wife get them for face value - Does the casino save silver for your wife if they show up ? or do they have a pawn shop ??? for things people want to gamble they turn in for value ???

i don't think people bring dimes to casino's or do they ???

All silver they save for us we pay face. Last week they gave us this Franklin and the quarters was from last year. It's crazy what people change for gambling money. 20210716_042607.jpg 20200226_181827.jpg

Teenagers broke into my parents’ house and stole a bunch of silver coins including many silver dollars. They used it to buy candy and stuff at a nearby shopping center. Might be a similiar situation here.

Do those casino employees not know about the value of silver coins?

yes. I tell them what I'm looking for and what the values are. Same when the West Point quarters were coming out. They would set all the new quarters aside for me to search. Managers would get a complete set of course and the wife treats them to Starbucks all the time. There is only a couple that show interest in coin collecting.

Whoever turned these in originally most likely has a gambling addiction or was completely oblivious to what they actually had, it would seem. Regardless, congratulations on your good fortune @Mark68.

Awesome score. Any key dates? I got a $5 red seal note at a casino cashier a few years ago. Not too valuable but a first for me :)

So....They do have a reason for treating ya'll so well.

When I retired from land surveying and went into retail sales, I had access to cash register tills, and often had great finds. I also "trained" my co-workers what to look for and received many finds from them. I also, like you, let them know they were appreciated.

As with you, very few were interested in collecting, though one young girl's mother collected 2 dollar bills.
