Four boxes of halves.. this is what I found.

    1952 :thumb:
    1967
    1968 x 2

    2007P x 2
    2003D

Also found a credit union with a free coin counter, so I took in a " truckload " to turn in. The only issue with the coin counting machine is that it will only hold 1k at a time before the bag has to be changed. The tellers were super nice and stayed with me to change the bags out.

Jeff did you need to be a customer at that bank to get the free coin counting?

yes, free for members, or 5% for non-members. I have been a member of the credit union for 10+ years, and never realized they have a coin counter...

I was searching some Unc rolls of 1946s dimes the other day (looking for the "Sans Serif" variety). I didn't find what I was looking for, but came across six (6) of these coins in one of the rolls I searched. The coins have a very weak (nearly invisible) "U" in "E PLRIBUS UNUM".

    2 boxes of halves today-

First box has a 69D showing at one end- so I decided to open it first and besides the 69D, this coin was right in the middle of the roll.

Real nice 1907 D Barber Half! :smile

2 box total was this Barber plus 7- 40%ers.

    Nice find on that Barber!!

I bought my second box of pennies the other day and the box was full of these clear plastic tubes, not the paper tubes like Im used to. I searched a few and it was actually quite nasty, never seen so many dirty and oily pennies. Are all of these gonna be like that? Whats up with the plastic tubes, can I expect to find good stuff in there?

Also, why does everyone here search halves? They seem like the popular roll to search and was just wondering why?

    Take care and thanks!

    Thanks Jim.

As far as Half rolling searching- One word- SILVER!

    64 and earlier- 90% Silver

    65 to 70- 40% Silver

At least, that's why I'm doing it and if I get lucky like the 07D Barber, its a plus numismatic wise!

    Good luck in your searches!

*Regarding plastic tubes- Here in NJ they are used by Brink's as opposed to the Red/White wrappers from Neff & Son (Guarda)

*I have had nice finds from either one, but the best finds I've had with pennies are from $50.00 Coin Counting Machine Bags from my local bank- if you can get them , go for it!

Congrats on the Barber!! That is an Awesome find in a roll, and in really good condition too!

Well, I was starting to think that half dollar roll searching in my area had given all it was going to give. Erin (CT member who lives a few miles from me) and I have had poor luck lately, though a had a pretty good box a week ago. Then today, I opened a box I got yesterday. Us half dollar roll searchers live for boxes like this:

    1 2003
1 1996 Half Balboa from Panama (not silver, but a cool find)
    2 1969
    6 1968
    11 1967
    5 1966

    So, 24 40%ers, PLUS 7 90%ers:

    6 1964
    1 1941 WALKER!!!!

It was a great coin day today. I opened it with my 16 year old son and he got the best 1964, an AU, for his dansco folder. Only a few more holes for him now.

    1910-P Good

    1924-S AG
    2 more wheaties, 1944-P and 1958-D

    they are still out there.....

Wow, those 3 dates in 7 bucks worth? Did you have a clue that they had old cents, or just bought the lot on a whim?

Searching through my two rolls of laundry quarters, I found two bicentennial quarters in EF-40. Not the most special, but better than nothing, I suppose.
