I found this coin in a roll plus two of the west point quarters another good find you can't find these coins in this kinda shape no more there all gone. But I got lucky to find these couple of coins in a roll and I have went through some rolls had some 82 and 83 Washington quarters that were mint year's ago and they got gone don't know if I accidentally put them back in a roll and cash them in or someone took them there was a couple people knew that they were worth some money I don't tell know body about my collection My office is off in my bedroom were nobody belongs in so I keep this stuff on the down low I have some nice coins that I have some time in something happens to my collection I don't know what I would do.
All my coins have been pulled out of bank rolls I have not buy none of my coins I have done a little trading around and got a few not many.
You better hope they don't find out you're on CoinTalk. They might read this thread and figure out where you keep all your penny's Lesson #1 - Never ever state where your coins are. Not even on CoinTalk!
You are right even on coin talk nobody knows where I live if they can find me I will give them to them I live in the mountains hek I still get turned around some times paddy man lol
Padday man they ant seen nothing for real I been roll hunting for over 5 years just see something I like I just keep putting it back. Now I'm New to the errors and varieties I am new at this but I'm wanting to learn I really love this hobby paddy man I just a little slow picking up the errors from pmd so it will take me a minute but I done come a long ways from what you have tried to teach me and reading I am starting to figure it out. I know you ant in to doubled die coins but I believe I found a 82 p large date copper penny there saying now that even the reverse is doubled die I have never heard one before a doubled die obverse and reverse on the same coin first I've really heard of and ive done a lot of research on the 82 one of my favorite LMC so I have been working on this coin for some time it's time for my hard work paid off I mean hours and hours of research on this coin trying to figure out how and the word that the 82d small date copper penny got out that is a tricky thing. There was no making of this coin what so ever was not even set up for it to happen I can't figure it out I can understand the 43 but the 82 just bugs me some one had to know what they were doing that this coin would be the coin off the next generation. I don't know how they pulled it off but they did and took 16 years for the very first one to be found I believe there is at least 30 or 50 off these coins out there they have the I know they have to be more than 2 of them it only makes sense. What the problem is there is no body looking for this coin most people don't even know nothing about it and there ant no hard core roll hunter out there like they was in the 40 like now cause they think all the good coins are gone but there still some out there I believe that I have to that is why I do what I do I will show you what I mean one day before I leave this world I be telling you about paddy man I believe that all we got is hope and faith as long as you got that anything possible.
What you want to collect is up to you. I find so many 1965+ era quarters in my change it's crazy, but I just toss them all back into circulation. It's cool that they're still circulating after 50 years but...
Yeah I speak just like this I'm county as All get out man I have a total Way with words and the way I speak you would have to just meet me to know. If we all was in a crowd together I would stick out like a sore thumb I try not to let it show the way I talk and what words I use but it is just me had to change that sorry if you don't like the way I talk can't help it I have had problem with this sence I started this site it's just me bub can't help it.
Yeah plus finding them in great shape yeah I toss most of mine back in cirlation it really got to catch my eyes to keep it hek if I didn't I would be flooded with these coins I find them all the time.
In the old days quarters could go into storage and sit for ten or twenty years. They could come out of storage and go straight back into storage again. In 1964 you could find 1932 quarters in almost perfect shape. The better dates were nabbed by collectors but common dates were often in XF or AU condition. In 1972 the mint and FED began rotating their coin stocks so no coin sits out longer than about three years normally. Finding old quarters in high grade is rare and the ones that do exist often came from mint sets. Few collectors even notice so these will wear out over time as well.
I agree that clad coins could become great rarities in the higher grades and I keep telling myself I need to cherry-pick the best examples now. At the same time, they're still just base metal slugs.
But All jokes aside if it is in excellent condition I will pull it out these coins will have value to them one day it would pay off in the long run. Just like that picture of this coin it is pretty good shape I think so I am going to keep pulled it out of cirlation I've had this old coin for a while now I did have a bunch of 82 and 83 Washington quarters but they got gone can't have nothing but they want get these I don't just let anybody in my house.
Here's a 1971D I pulled from a roll a while back. It happened to be from an Unc roll of 1971Ds, but this one was particularly nice. My camera doesn't do it justice.
The '67 wholesales for $4 in chBU and it's even scarcer in AU, XF, and VF so should be worth nearly as much. Nice '71-D @yakpoo
Hey Bentley, please post pictures of the West Point quarters!!! They are special coins!!! Hard to find!!!
