I stood watching a store clerk bust open a new roll of quarters. She gave me these two(2) as my change. They immediately went into my shirt pocket. I came home and took these pics. They are now sitting in a tube. My question is ... are these considered "uncirculated"? TIA for your help.
If you would have asked the old coin shop guy that taught me about coins when I was a youngster he would say no way. But yeah with grading standards as they are now, I am confident those would come back with an MS grade.
Thank You. MS is always nice. I don't send anything out for grading. I'm just looking to not be called a liar when I claim "uncirculated".
Just because you got them in change from a clerk that you saw broke open the roll does not mean they have been circulated. I wouldn’t have them graded but they should be a MS coin. I would have given her a dollar and asked for 4 quarters.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but we are in mid July of 2021. LOL. I haven’t seen any in circulation here either. In fact, I only have 2 of the 2020 quarters from circulation.
As older collectors pass from this mortal coil, heirs re-introduce MS coins back into the circulation stream. If one is lucky, they can be taken back out of the stream before they develop any disqualifying contact marks or wear. Remember, you can find plenty of MS-looking coins but the hardest part (nowadays) is to find MS coins with no die deterioration damage…imo…Spark
I believe if they go from the mint, to the location where they are put in coin wrappers, then to the bank, then the store, they are uncirculated! They don't become circulated until they are removed from the original wrapper! That's when circulation begins!!! JMHO
It was used by Shakespeare for Hamlet’s soliloquy “To Be Or Not To Be” which referenced dying. The exact phrase used was “…Shuffle off this mortal coil…”. Academics continue to this day to ponder his use of the word “coil” to reference “body”. Go to Nosweatshakespeare.com to get a great explanation…imo…Spark
The orange background is hard on the eyes with the lighting which is hard on the coins also. I'd think they are MS and the pictures are making every little thing pop on the coins. everything is "uncirculated" if you can't detect signs of circulation or wear on the coin. contact marks from other coins, unless severe enough, doesn't keep them from being uncirculated.
