I just received the winnings of Chip's contest over in the Contest section..

I really didn't think hard, I just threw a guess down and lucky me..

My mother always told me that we're a very lucky family when it comes to contests.. But this was the first time I really won something on an online forum! So cool!

Also want to note I was at a coin show about a week ago in New Haven(ok, more of a Stamp show with one coin dealer lol) and I won a ravel for $5 off any dealer's table. So, I bought some 90% silver washingtons and I was happy!

Without further adeu, here are some pics of the winnings I won over at Chip's contest!

That musket ball medal is cool. If you get a chance post the other side.
I look at something like that and start wondering what they made musket balls out of and when and why the medal was made. It's fun to track the history of stuff like this.
    Yes, I know I'm sick. :)

I would have thought musket balls were made of lead, but maybe iron?

I thought lead as well but if it is someone took really good care of it.
This farm show is actually a club. These guys do some really nice work.
They put old farm machines back in almost new condition for show.

You are welcome! One of my Dads hobbies was restoring antique engines, they made those tokens from lead that was poured into a musket ball mold and then coined in a die, they sold them for a dollar at the shows to help fund their club.

I posted them on Chip's 700th post contest thread. :)
Only thing I haven't posted were the two medals I received. I will try and get shots of them in a little while, hopefully my camera is all charged up by now. :)

Alrighty here are the two medals I got from chip.
Can anybody give me a little info on them? As for what they are, and what the composition is? (They are fragile, in the sense that if I wanted to, I could bend them very easily)

EDITED TO ADD: Mine appear to have no reverses. It looks like they had reverses at one time, but have been worn away

The info on the first one is posted above.
Do you have a reverse image of the second one?

Yes, I see the information, after posting the pictures of course
    lol
And like I added on to my original post, there are no reverses that are visible. They have been worn away on both coins
