My first coin show since the virus. Didn’t have any money to spend but of course- I can’t hold back. I got to speak with a gentleman (who I really think I’ve chatted with before). He said he knew some people who he thinks I could get in touch with for an ‘unpaid internship’. As much as I love the idea I plainly can’t invest too much of my time in a venture which will not get me much. However I have a lot to think about already so this is kind of on the periphery.

I paid 130 for this. As I added to my PCGS inventory later I saw the current PCGS price guide listing - 275! Mine is CAC so I must assume I did pretty darn well. Maybe a nice resell could get me a few more dollars for spending this upcoming semester! But I’ll have to wait to see. Check out my UnTrue View (c) images

I also got this type set frame for 5 dollars. Even though most of my coins are encapsulated- I can still fill this up pretty decently with my raw coins.

Your 1881-O looks really nice. PCGS values are notoriously inflated but the CDN CAC retail price guide says that coin is worth $188 so you did just fine.

That's quite a nice coin, @Evan Saltis, good to see that things are getting back to normal elsewhere. However, you may want to edit your initial post when you get a chance, as your image is only appearing as a thumbnail image as opposed to a full image.

Nice looking coin and you did good on the pricing. You need to keep for a few years to make decent money on this coin. Find a way to collect and hold. It’s hard at times but it can be done. Very nice purchase.

Like the frame! A few years back, I remember I had an appointment at a local Bank of America branch that had a full 19th & 20th century version of this frame up on the wall, with space for the gold coins as well. Not for sale, of course, but one can still dream!

    I would rather have had a 19th than 20th

On my wall this morning. No silver Kennedy halves. Apparently I’ve never had one although I thought I did.

Don't look at the retail prices, look at recent auction prices. You seem to have done quite well on the 81-O. The only PCGS 64 CAC recently went for $456 in June, although it does have a little bit of attractive toning on it. PCGS 64 no CAC sold in April for $288 and an NGC 64 in May for $162. I would say you did well buying it for $130.

Great deal! Can anyone tell me what CAC means and why that is special?

Had a girlfriend for a year or so...a few years before I got married in '81 (not to her)...she had a new '77 vette that I got to drive just about anywhere/anytime...loved it...my one and only experience with one, so felt like sort of a vetteran.
