I have a lovely 1911-A 25 Pfennig proof in my collection. I have never been able to track down any reference to mintage numbers for this coin. Does anyone know where I might be able to find this information or if it is available?
I can't find anything that says that Berlin made a Proof. The mintage for the business strike is 3,179,000 https://en.ucoin.net/coin/germany-25-pfennig-1911/?cid=43109&f=add
That's all I can find too. I see some pricing for "common proofs 1909-1912" but nothing about mintages.
Just found this. Berlin Mint KM18 https://coins.ha.com/itm/germany/ge...g-1911-a-pr67-ultra-cameo-ngc-/a/3067-34104.s
I am wondering if these are mislabeled. Maybe they should read PL instead of PF. Edit Actually my world catalog, says that all years had proofs. It does not give a mintage so I am thinking that the proofs are part of the whole mintage.
Try contacting Ron@GermanCoins.com If anyone would know it would be him. He specializes in German coins.
Best I can do on short notice; The info I have is as of late 2017. In the 3 millions were the regular strikes. Proof 63 coins were averaged at $250 each.
The mintage for proofs is likely unknown. NGCcoin.com, Numista.com and other sources don‘t mention it. PS: here‘s one for sale, the seller mentions that an estimated 100 coins exist for each mint: https://www.ma-shops.de/hamiltonbowen/item.php?id=36
Here is mine. Top photo is my photo, bottom photo is PCGS Trueview. The Trueview gives the coin a yellowish color which is does not have.
not particularly fond of foreign coins me self, but do dabble if errors or silver, or a remarkable piece, and this one is definitely a beauty!!
I ran into a problem with my prior post. The attached picture is what I meant to post. My 1909 25 pfennig pattern.
