Hello, i recently won 2 coins on ebay and wondering how much they are worth and all the first one is http://cgi.ebay.com/Columbia-Space-...ltDomain_0?hash=item2a0393a8c8#ht_1189wt_1165 the other is http://cgi.ebay.com/APOLLO-11-SPACE...ins_Bullion?hash=item518f7373ab#ht_1658wt_939 thanks and anymore info on these 2 coins will be appreciated
I don't know for certain, but I believe you over paid for both items. The second one might be a proof and allegedly gold, but there are actions with the same medal selling for less.
and are these sets genuine mint coins? i cant find them in any sets over 100 pages of google searched and havent found either of these coins in any of the pages i looked at
They certainly aren't coins, they are commemorative tokens. As for coming from the mint, I haven't the faintest clue.
Both listings explained what they are. The first one is a medallion and the second one is a commemorative (gold plated.) Whether you over paid or not you're not out a lot of money. You may want to actually read the listings of what you bid on and have an idea of what it is you are bidding on before you hit the button. Just a thought.
I think if you like them and they make you happy, for a few bucks ,who cares! Enjoy them. Now some words of advice,Don't bid on things if you don't know their value to be higher than or equal too your bid, if your looking to resell for a profit, the exception to this is when you buy something for yourself, that has special meaning to you, then the "value" is set by how much you want or need that peice, even if you overpay a little it's still worth it to you to have it then it's all good. I break it down into business type and personal type buying, business type buys I look around and wait for the item I want at the price I want to pay,I set a highest monetary value that I'm willing to go and thats it,if someone beats me by 20 cents fine,I'll wait till the next one comes along. Then you have the personal buys, these can get you in trouble quick,an example would be overpaying for a single coin to complete a 20 year collection and all I need is that one coin and want to finish the set, value might go out the window(within reason,of course) cause I'm not afraid to pay a few extra bucks to make myself happy.
