1866 Dollar Coin Real or Fake???

    I need your advice please, I've seen this coin for sale, any ideas if it's real or fake?

    Welcome to CT!

    Your coin screams "Fake!" to me. The wear is all wrong, but more specifically, compare the right end of the IGWT ribbon...or wing tips...or claws relative to the branches,...or positioning of Eagle's feathers. I'm sure I can find more discrepancies if I look harder.

    Here's a picture of an authenticated example...

    Yes, the date is pathetic. Tip - don't hold your coins like that. Fingerprints never come off.

    Any time in life you get a bad gut feeling just go with it!. as something inside you already knows the answer and 9 out of 10 times it will be right.

    Sadly, there are too many out there that place profitability over integrity. Counterfeit coins have been a terrible cancer to the hobby.

    It is a very crude,cast counterfeit. Not even a decent fake.

    I'm just going to be blunt. That is a horrible fake. If you were considering purchasing this, or have already, you should probably step away from buying uncertified examples until you have better understanding, more experience and knowledge.

  19. Wow people just make non-authentic coins for profit on newer and younger numismatists. Other night call them scammers but i call them money-vampires
