Today we received two monster boxes of the new Silver American Eagles.

My opinion is a bit disappointed, truthfully, but still an improvement in the reverse design.

They are not to be released until July 20. How did you get them early? Are these the bullion?

Certainly not as inspired as Weinman's design was.

I believe the idea of a new reverse was an anti-counterfeiting move, not to produce a Rembrandt.

If they look like that , it will have an impact on the price.

show me the added anti-counterfeiting devices because besides the notch in the reeding, I don't see any.

I'll wait about 100 years or so to buy one. They might be worth a dollar or two more than what they are selling for now, maybe, I'll let you know K.

These new coins will likely get the best known fakes made of them soon and real silver fake proof versions too in the next few months.

The new Generation Rolex Fakes are so good even taking the internal Rolex mechanism out and disassembling by a certified watchmaker they cannot tell the difference in a side by side comparison.

China and USA are near a breaking point, the only thing holding things back is getting the most important manufacturing into other countries first before things get out of hand. maybe a few years at most. China used to tell counterfeiters to keep it low quality and simple now they have a green light to purchase High End CNC Machines and Multi Laser Carving Machines.

V75 Fakes was just a warm up.

The back almost looks like it has that porus, concrete look of cast fakes...

    Hello Mike,
Is there an explanation why the Reverse finish looks so different than the Obverse?
    Thanks,
    J.T.

If the eagle was directly in front of us with the complete bird on the coin I would personally like it a lot more

I believe that to be mostly lighting, although the reverse has a very matte finish tp it.

Do you mean the original rev, 1916-1947...? I ask as the new/old Walking Liberty obverse has the 'AW' rather prominent...did a double-take like a doubled 'W' mint-mark at first. Think the AW should have been be more inconspicuous.

I don't like the new reverse design. They could done a much better job. They should have gone with a reverse with much more fine details. Finer detail make it easier to spot if counterfeit. But with the quality of the counterfeits being made getting better there will come a point that you won't be able to tell them apart.

I believe the idea behind this issue is to make it easier to tell the real from the fakes. You'll be able to distinguish the fakes because they will be much better looking! The counterfeiters won't be able to "dumb it down". Good thing we're just talking about bullion...:D
