The guy who gave it to me, is a friend of mine, and a dealer, and he told me it was in F condition (It was free ) and I was wondering if he is right about the grade? There aren't really letters in liberty visible, so I don't know how it could be anything above G, but that again I am very new to grading coins. Thanks
It's G.Im sure of it because I checked in my red book and it said G is Date and legends readable, the word Liberty worn off headband. That's exactely what your coin looks like. B12
That was my thought too, but my friend insists its a F. I'd ask him why, but he's not around at the moment.
I'm going to go a G4 like GDJMSP for the same reason...the Barbers was one of the first coins I learned how to grade....at least that was the first few coins I tried! Speedy
Hi, I think a G-4 with a rim ding visible on the reverse is a reasonable grade. The lettering on the reverse is just beginning to wear into the rim. The obverse IN GOD WE TRUST is weak although the rest of the obverse is a strong G. Overall, G-4 Have Fun, Bill
You did a good job of grading zaneman. Just think how good you will be after getting some experience.
