Is this a good deal, looking to buy some certified silver eagles, found 2 certified silver eagles for 69.95 a 2008 MS69 early release and a 2009 MS69 early release, wanted to know if this was a good price for this combo? wanted to buy these to commemorate when i started collecting coins in 2008

early release does not add any value to the price of the coin
and you only pay for what you think they are worth
    i hope this helps dave

Some people give in to the Early Release and First Strike premium. For the newer ASE's the special label isn't working as good as it is, lets say on the 08 buffaloes. The premiums for a PCGS First Strike buffalo are ridiculous!
I don't see that happening with NGC's "Early Release" ASE's, and I would pass on the deal you found. I'd pay, maybe $30 each, but I would much rather get a raw one for less money.

yeah, i was thinking the same as far as the early release premium, the grade of MS69 is nice, i saw on ebay these were going for about $30 each.

They are just bullion and they have tons minted. I spent tons of money on MS69's and could barely get the premiums back to sell them.
I'd advise not buying them, and sticking to raw coins. No need to pay any premium for a piece of bullion in a special label in a slab.

I have watched these regularly on ebay and think you got a good deal. I bought one from the mint and I think it was about $35, plus shipping, they were selling most of 2009 on ebay for $60 + on a regular basis.

Ponderossa: My post should have been attached to your question about the 2008 eagle commemerative.

As for the original post it is hard to say - checking the closed auctions on ebay the prices are all over the board. To me it seems to be about average - I am assuming shipping and handling were included in that price. So really a toss up. As mentioned these are bullion coins and yes I usually get me a PCGS graded coins(both ms69 and pr69dc), plus the ones I get from the mint. I like the ASE's enough to keep purchasing them.
