Are there supposed to be 1975 pennies with a close AM, because I cannot find one anywhere except.........
http://www.varietyvista.com/01b LC Doubled Dies Vol 2/Memorial Reverse Design Varieties.htm you can check here, there are different reverses through the 70s, 3 of them, but there isn't a variety. you can't vcompare a 1975 to a 1973 or a 1973 to a 1972 or 71 for instance. that's about it. Reverse Design varieties, Should be RVD-004
1988 has a "wide AM" but it's more of a flared G in the FG than any difference in the AM of America. Normal 1992 is RDV-006, The close variety is RVD-007.
Thank you that's a great resource. They show the 1975D as having the standard (for the time period) AM with space between them until it was changed in 92. I have found a 75 D over S that clearly shows the AM to be barely touching
So I wonder how this could occur im sure there's a perfectly reasonable answer I just need to find it .
Ok so once I transferred my pics to a photo editor I was able to find the answer to my question there is a little machine doubling which at low magnification gives the appearance of the A and M slightly touching . The editor showed me I was mistaking sorry for wasting your time guys. But thank you for your replies. Have an awesome day all of you.
@Paul Rendon No problem at all, the link I provided of variety vista is a good resource for these types of things, as well as RPMs and all that jazz. even if it seems like nothing was gained, that was certainly gained! Good luck, you won't find it if you don't look for it!
