I posted this previously but Im not sure if it was under errors in the forum, but anyway this is one of my favorite error finds...is this considered grease in the die? there is zero damage on the reverse and the lettering in "Liberty" is still ledgable. Thanks

Yes, it's struck through grease aka a grease filled die.

Thanks all...to me it looks like someone with a tiny finger rubbed a little shape into it...lol, now the question is grade it just because?

I think that would be a waste of money, but it's your choice.

That would be a waste of money. The coin isnt worth that much.

Any grading by would be a total waste of good, hard earned money.

I can tell you first hand it's pretty high dollar to get one graded. I just sent in a dime to PCGS $59.00 Fee + $69.00 to Join + $20.00 for insurance and postage. So think hard if you want a graded/slabbed coin. Membership is good for a year. If you live near folks that can grade or advise they can send your coin in for a cheaper price.

I got that dime back and it turned out NOT to be an error. So I have a common 1942-D Mercury dime that is slabbed that has a total of $153.00 invested in it.
