I've been wanting to put a couple sets of these together for awhile now so I started with 1903 (122) 2 Att & 1 Att. I don't think I have ever seen one I didn't like something about. They seem to tone beautifully no matter if they go red or brown. This is the 2 Att. My opinion, very nice example. I am not sure if its Hamburg Mint. I probably should know but I don't. I was gonna buy the example either way so... I am just starting these so if anybody is familiar with them your input is appreciated in advance. There is not much online about these.
Those are some nice looking coins. Here is some info on mints. https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces11037.html
Numista is only telling me what is out there. It doesn't break the coin down. Like decipher what "coin alignment" means .... or decipher which mint mark I am looking at. I'm pretty confused about the coin.
I understand from Numista, that there is no mintmark. The only difference is orientation - medal alignment ↑↑ for Hamburg and coin alignment ↑↓ for Birmingham. If you turn the coin like book page and the picture is upside down, it is coin alignment (↑↓), otherwise medal alignment (↑↑)
That almost sounds like you have to have coin in hand unless the seller stipulates which it is. Which they don't. I think i seen a guy on numista that was.... but none other. Either way thanks for explaining it.
OP I collect Thai as well but never paid too close of an attention to the different mints. I have a very comprehensive thai coin book that may discuss it, I'll take a look and let you know. Also I can reach out to the many thai collectors that I have on thai fb and ask.
