If you are referring to my American Bicentennial medal from France, it is 81mm and weighs 8.07ozs. It is hardly a token!
Though I don't collect tokens, I would think that the size has a lot to do with it. I've always thought that a token was meant to be used as a form of commerce and would be small enough for someone to carry in their pocket. If you put five of my French medal in your pocket, you're liable to lose your drawers.
For those who may not know or may have forgotten, divine decree called home three of our greatest Founding Fathers...all presidents...each on, of all days/dates...the 4th of July...two on the very same July 4 in the very same year of 1826...Thomas Jefferson, 2nd pres. and John Adams, 3rd pres. They were hundreds of miles apart and so neither knew of the other's passing. Exactly five years later on July 4, 1831, James Monroe, 5th pres, passed. Quite incredible, really.
