I fully planned on going to Summer FUN, but a hiccup in the sale of a business may prevent me from going. I can, but I'd have to juggle some things to be able to go. I've been to a Summer FUN before, but haven't made it to a Winter show, which is odd, as I live in St Pete, and Tampa is so close compared to the suburbs of Disney. So for those of you who have been to both, should I just wait for the Winter show and make this week less hectic?
Winter shows are always more attended than summer ones. People spend summers going on vacations and being outside, probably this year especially
Winter is much bigger with more club meetings, more dealers, more expensive/rare stuff, more seminars, and more of the people you might want to see again. Plus, the weather is nicer in January than it is in July and if you live up north, that's a real plus. Summer is smaller and more manageable but still a very sizeable show. I think you have to put your business ahead of your hobby. But, since it's close to you, you can always play it by ear. If the business issues resolve in time, then go. I have a real estate closing for the sale of some property on the second day of the Summer FUN show and I am probably going to not go to the closing since it can all be done by my probate and closing attorney without my presence. But if something comes up with the closing that would require my attendance then I can always change my plans, since I live close to the Show and to the site of the closing.
I've never been to a Summer FUN, but the Winter FUN is about 3x bigger. If I could only go to one, I'd choose the January show every time.
I've never been to summer 'FUN', but 'winter' I have. Too bloody hot in July in 'dem' environs. Winter FUN is like a summer vacation, as January in the North East is exceedingly snowy and unbearable for old bones.......
I booked my stay at the January show today. The Rosen Centre charged the same price as 2 years ago. Figured it would be higher. Hope to see you guys there.
