Post a coin you own with a horseback rider. I would like to know how many coins both US and foreign depict men on horseback. I will start.

I always liked this design....wish they would have just left the hole in it instead of trying to plug it ...

Equestrian types are very common on Roman coins. Usually, they bear the legend ADVENTVS AVG, commemorating the entry of the Emperor into the city after a time away. There's also the very common late Roman type with a soldier spearing a falling horseman. Somehow, I sold every one of these that I had! So my collection is currently riderless.

But howabout someone riding a lion, instead?

I don't have any Americans on Horse, but a few romans:

-Emperor Nero on horseback prancing around, followed by a soldier.
-Emperor Domitian on horseback (celebrating a military victory?)
-Emperor Domitian on horseback, spearing fallen enemy.
-Emperor Trajan, spearing another fallen enemy (favorite theme it seems...)
-Emperor Hadrian, saluting troops while on an campaign in Syria.

I can possibly post a lot of Russian coins but that's kinda cheating as it features St George slaying the dragon.

    Here's one that's different:

Here's another one with a different motive:

Two from Canada, one from Lithuania, and one from Ukraine.

The one from Sudan is cheating but how long would I wait for a request to see mounted camels? :smile

Hey MagMan, I think I might be a little bit of a copy cat....
Here is a coin from my grandpa's collection, that I received from my father, which he received in 1991. I was going to post this as one of my "Outta The Vault" series, but decided not to, when I saw this thread.

    Enjoy ;)

I like the Equestrian motive of the Delaware quarter. When we visit the U.S we always try to get some of those.
The other equestrian quarter I like is the one showing 2 wild horses galloping across the prairie - unfortunately don't remember which state issued that one.

It's actually one of my favorite state quarter designs. Btw Krispy just posted this video on another thread How Money is Made - Part 1 But starting at 2:45 in the video it actually has part of the making of the Nevada state quarter design, which was pretty cool.
