1798 Large cent

    how can you tell it's a 1798 large cent? I can just make out the one cent, But i'm sorry I can't make out the date. But since you did some metal detecting I give you an A for finding such a coin.

    Well the coin is heavily corroded but if you hold it up in just the right light you can barely make out the date

    it is a 1798, and it is one of the small 8 varieties but I can't tell for sure if it is a type 1 or type 2 bust.
