We doing a mega newp dump here? Cause I sure am!

    Let's do this...
    emden28st.png
Number 1 is a 28 Stuiver (Basically a Daalder/Thaler) from Emden, which used to be part of the Netherlands when it was made ca. 1630.

    1615halfoord.png
Number 2 is a Half Oord of 6 Mijten from Antwerp, Spanish Netherlands. Still in amazing condition for it's age, also considering that most are pretty shit in terms of looking good.

    1788-86 achtstedukaat.png
Number 3 is an 1/8th Silver Ducat from Zeeland, with one interesting quirk, it's an overdate. To be specific it's the 1788/86 variant.

    1744duitmisslag.png
Number 4 is an interesting error on a 1744 VOC Duit from Holland. Struck once, flipped and rotated and struck again (See top of V on the bottom of the COA).

    1789-86duitzeeland.png
And last but definitely not least, number 5. It would seem like a completely normal VOC Duit from Zeeland, but look close.... It's 89 over 86 plus it was slightly rotated during it's second strike. Because of that, the shield widens at the end and you can see a doubling in the waves where the Lion is.

A bit of a spam, but totaly worth it.

French coinage is not really my thing, but I bought a large quantity of mostly 20th century for little money. Amongst the mostly junk bin coinage there were these three, which seemed a bit better:
    France DT 1611A 1-side.JPG France Sol 1790B 1-side.JPG France TOGS 1-side.JPG
First is a Double Tournois of Louis XIII 1611, Paris. Interesting over-strike Y/D on the obverse.
Second is a Sol of Louis XVI 1790, Rouen. I see quite a few, but rarely better than washers.
Third is 5 centimes of Napoleon III, 1853 Paris. Anyone into French coinage/history able to tell me the significance of the TOGS counterstamp?

Rescued this better-date coin from a melt bucket today - too bad it has a hole in it or it would be worth about what I paid for all the other coins I rescued:

Newest acquisitions. I do enjoy a few Thai medals now and then and for some reason I like the Sarit Tanarat medals. Not easy to find ones in great condition but I just pulled out the only MS 67, which was nice. So another top pop! And my Rama X coronation copper medal MS 70. 1964 SARIT TANARAT 35MM MS 67.jpg 2019 50MM COPPER KING VAJIRALONGKORN CORONATION MS70 ANTIQUED copy.jpg

A bunch of new coins and coin I was too lazy to photoshop today!

Let's start with the new stuff first:
Number 1 is the 200 years of the Dutch Tax Service, in silver. A coin on a coin, so coinception? Anyways, pretty neat! 20065eurobelastingdienst.png

Number 2 is the 400 years of Michiel de Ruyter 5 euro, not my favorite but my sister likes it! 20075euroderuyter.png

Number 3 is the Van Nelle 5 euro, the Van Nelle factory is a UNESCO Heritage site in Rotterdam, South-Holland. Used to make tobacco products when they were still in business!
    20155eurovannelle.png

Number 4 is a contemporary counterfeit of an Oord (¼st) from Zeeland, minted in modern day Belgium in a place called Reckheim/Rekem. The biggest counterfeitting operation in the area of the lowlands!
(p.s this was struck over another coin, see the writing on the far right of the rev)
    1657oordreckheim.png

Number 5 is a nice and honest Duit from West-Friesland, 1739. Not much to say about this little guy other than it's aged well! 1739wfduit.png

Last newp, this is a pretty common Duit from Zeeland, 1794. I just liked the die-crack in ZEELANDIA!
    1794duitzeeland.png

That was the newps out of the way, now I have a small handfull of coins I had laying around that I was too lazy to photoshop...

Number 7 is a small guy, a "Wapenstuiver" (1/20fl) from my favorite city of Dordrecht! A birthday present from my sister!
    1733wapenstuiver.png

Number 8 is another present from my sister! This time it's this beautiful Pijlenstuiver, again from the superior city of Dordrecht!
    1739pijlstuiver.png

Alright alright, spam I know, deal with it and look at these beauties lol...
One last coin and then I'll disappear from the surface of the earth lol

Last coin for this post is a pretty neat 1808 ½ Duit from the East-Indies, minted in Enkhuizen West-Friesland.
    1808halveduit.png
This would become IMO the last series of "True" duiten to be made, 8 years after this coin was struck, the decimal system was implemented into our nation.

I got several sets of the new series of Indian coins today. I'd been waiting in hopes that the 1 rupee would be released and I could get all 5 at once, but India doesn't seem to be in any hurry to release them:

Got four newps the other day, all very interesting stuff..

Number one is this amazing VOC Duit from Zeeland, tons of original color left, shame about the weak strike but the condition makes up for it!
    1793DuitVOC.png

Number two is an interesting one, this is a Nickel-Brass 1 stuiver made by a privateer for circulation in Curaçao in 1875, originally meant to circulate at a value of 5 cents, but ended up being worth only 2½ cents.
    ND18751stuiverJJN.png

Number three is the third of this type and year, this funky looking 1808 Duit, struck in Enkhuizen, West-Friesland.
    1808duit3.png

And last but certainly not least, this 2 Stuivers from Gelderland, 1786. A new issuer for the type in my collection!
    17862stGLD.png

Also this is a coin that I had sitting around for months, but lacked the motivation to photoshop it. This little guy is a three Heller from the city of Kleve, Western-Germany. It saw circulation in the Dutch Republic because the appearance was very similar to the Duiten of the era, later they also received Dutch writing to make them look like Duiten even more. Struck ca. 1618. ND1618duitkleef.png

Here are a few highlights from pickups in the last month or so:

I am very passionate about my Austro-Hungarian corona set, and for many dates I keep multiple hypergem examples as long as they have something different to add to the collection. I recently had the ability to purchase the only two graded MS67 examples of the 1908 Austrian corona (a one-year commemorative type).

Apart from these two MS67s, I also have of this type a bright white MS66, an MS66 PL, and an MS64 from the Richard Placht Collection (he worked on the design of this coin at the Vienna Mint) which may or may not be an early test strike as it does have a wire rim.

As the toning on these MS67 examples is similar, and they were graded together on the same submission, I would assume these coins were kept together for a long time. It is extremely unusual to find surviving examples of this grade for any date in the corona series (1892-1916).

    NGC MS67

    s-l1600 (2).jpg

This next coin is the big brother to the ones above, the 5 corona (crown size). While this example is very baggy, accounting for the grade, it is also the only example I've seen that got the PL designation. Having said that, according to the NGC registry, there is also an MS62 PL floating around somewhere.

    60 Years of Reign Commemorative
    KM-2809 (1908)
    NGC MS61 PL

    s-l1600 (11).jpg

This is a pleasing gem example of a minor type issued under Horthy leading up to WWII. While this is a very common type, it is very difficult finding examples in high grades; even more so than finding high grade examples of 19th century minors.

This next piece is a prooflike medal from the 1896 Millennium Expo and immediately became one of my favorite pieces in my Expo set and my collection as a whole. I have an enormous desk medal produced in tin with this design, but this smaller prooflike gilt example has the eye appeal to surpass it.

    The legends translate best as:
Obverse: God Bless the Hungarians (1896)
Reverse: Commemorating 1000 Years of Hungary (896)

    1896 Hungarian Millennium Exposition
    Gilt Medal 28x33mm, 8.0g

A couple of nice fractional farthing upgrades surfaced yesterday. The Quarter farthing measures just 13mm across and was the smallest denomination produced. Although primarily designed for use in Ceylon, it is included in the pantheon of British coins. The third farthing was intended for use in Malta.
