Purse? I have never heard the term. Nice die chip though.

Looks like a coffee bean eight. Meow just made up that term.

I think you're referring to the one I nicknamed "Lincoln's Purse".

I was using a stereomicroscope with optical zoom. The attachment to the eyepiece is the camera. Unfortunately, I had to sell it because my current apartment does not have room for it.

Cool set up. What does a rig like that cost?

When I bought the stereomicroscope with dual eyepieces about 17 years ago, it was $850, but they have come down quite a lot in price since then. At that time, I would have preferred to get one with three eyepieces so that there was a dedicated eyepiece for the camera attachment, but those costed more than $3,000 back then. Today, you can get the trinocular microscope with optical zoom for less than $1,000.

Not at all. Look at the quality of the image.

Sal, if you will note in my photo in post #8, you will also see that the stereomicroscope was capable of taking full images of a Morgan dollar. How many of those low-cost USB scopes are capable of taking such images? Heck, they can barely take a full image of a penny!
