What do you think the resale value on this would be? I have purchased this in 2001 and finally finished the set up. On there site they are selling each panel for 15.95..plus $2 for shipping.Im asking because I'm talking to another coin collector and told him I had these panels. He asked to see what I was talking about and showed him this site( listed below). I paid about $1200 for it at the time. He offered me $2000 for it. Do you think I should take this deal?? http://images.google.com/imgres?img...statehood+quarter+collection&gbv=2&hl=en&sa=X
It's early here, so I'm going to drink some coffee and go back and re-read this thing cause there must be something I missed. You paid 1200 bucks for uncirculated state quarters? And now some guy offered you 2 grand for them?
Thats correct. I first ordered them in 2001 when they first started this panel thing i believe. At the time I was actually under 18 and my mom was collecting them for me and paid for them.So I actually did not buy them. I believe at the time she was paying 22.95 a panel. Came to around $1200 after 8 years of collecting it getting 1 state every 6 weeks. But yes. The guy is offering me $2000 for it. You can still buy it for around $900 off the site I posted here and I also gave him that site..I know obviously people might sell yes sell it! Its $2000 profit for you. My question is, do you think something like this will have a great resale value of over 2k in the future? Like say 10-15 years down road..or do you think I should take the 2k offer? I made a transaction with this guy already. I know hes legit.
This guy sounds more confused than I am. Maybe he just likes you? State quarters aint my thing and so I'm not really qualified to answer your question but I would've doubted that your grandkids would have been able to sell them for 1200 bucks.
Thats what I'm thinking. I think i should act quick and get this 2,000 because I dont think something like this will be worth much down the road..
Ah,,, I put my set together for Face Value. You can also get a complete set on Ebay, And I bet for under 100.00... These are state Quarters and they made Millions of them,, Not really any huge Value.. So am I missing something.. Heck I will sell you my set for 800.00 .. come on please.. alright.. 700.00 And I will pay for shipping..(LOL)
Your Mom paid $1,200 for a set costing $897.50 for $25 worth of state quarters, a binder and a page for each state? Take the money and run! Be sure to repay your Mom!
She did something nice for you. After you repay her do something nice for her and take the credit card away from her.
Everyone here is correct. You're getting offered a price that is about 10 times what it's worth. As more scammers see that, they will package the quarters like that and the price will drop, and keep on dropping. Yes -- sell it, like, *today*, if not sooner. And, yes, pay your mom back, because she drastically overpaid, and this is a very very exceedingly rare instance where, even though she overpaid by an incredible amount, you can re-coup the money. (Oh, and did I mention that re-couping your money on something like this hardly ever happens in real life?) Keep us posted. I, like just about everyone else here, find it hard to believe that anyone in their right mind would want to purchase it from you -- or anyone -- for $2000. That's $100 for the coins and $1900 for the fancy packaging!
I'm gonna be honest. I had the opportunity to have the first reply to this thread. I was afraid of embarrassing myself, so I didn't post. But it looks like I was right - yeah, TAKE THE MONEY YESTERDAY!!!!! Joe
I wouldn't have taken the time to post this...the 2k would have been mine! But then again...I wouildnt have purchased those in the first place. Good luck and HURRY
Is this set from the Us Mint 1st day issued P&D card 1999-2008? they sold for each set sold from the mint at $12.95 ????
I will keep you guys posted and see if he goes through with the sale on this for $2000. Im really hoping he does it.
Sell NOW for CASH! I would not even hesitate for a second. Also, let this guy know I have a bridge in Brooklyn that I recently inherited that I am looking to sell! By the way, on the link where they sell them say to HURRY act promptly as time is running out ... umm, thank goodness they still have these in stock a year after the 10 year program finished running
