I didn't mean to be insulting or anything; I was just stating that, while there is a wealth of people here and a wealth of knowledge, you should know what you are buying prior to coming here and asking for opinions. Knowledge is power in this hobby, and while many of us are more than willing to help you, (myself included) you should be able to buy confidently by yourself as well. That's all I meant by what I said.
I hope you don't read this as argumentive, but I did in fact mean to insinuate that NAC & ANACS (two different grading companys) have different standards. One guided by ANA standards and the other guided by ? .
Condor, This is the most sensible answer I have seen yet. I agree that the more noticable companies will bring a higher price if you want to resale. None of my coins are for sale, so I thought I might get a better coin for less money going to a minor grader. I guess you get for what you pay.
Hi ! Jim, The only reason I paid 37.00 bucks is because this is the first year that the US Mint did not produce a proof SAE. In fact if you want a 2009 SAE, you have to get them either from E-Bay or a coin dealer. No matter which, you are going to pay a premium. As for the 2010 SAE, I haven't heard whether the mint will be producing proofs or not.
My point exactly. Which is why I bought a slab at a lesser known grading company for less money. The real question is, if the coin is an MS70, does it really matter who says so as long as it is slabbed at MS70 ???
Thank you for your comments. I was not insulted. I really hate to say this, but I am an impulsive buyer. If I see a coin that I like or want, I will pay the price to get it. I might have regrets or after-thoughts after I have made a purchase which is when I find it advantages to hear what Coin Talk people have to say.
