I was... surprised when I opened this, I had to let you all have a shot at it. I know my pictures aren't great, if anyone wants more and / or has suggestions let me know, I think I've "captured" the necessaries for your judgment. IMG_4216 (2).JPG IMG_4218 (2).JPG

I'd probably be a bit harsh on it and give it a VF30.

I can still see 'rivits' on the shield, and the date is profusely profound. The wingtips, worn, are discernable. XF.......

Nah, this one shouldn’t grade higher than VF30. Not enough remaining details for XF.

Seems low to me. The presence of the rivets alone leads me to the higher grade.

I'm waffling between low and high. I'll go high and say VF-35.

Does it look close to this one? If not, it’s not XF, not even by today’s “standards”.

Somewhat. And now you're going to crash the hammer, eh dear fellow? :)

I'll wait for final jeopardy....... devil.gif

I am not good at grading circulated SLQs, but I think it shouldn’t go higher than VF30/35. Lady Liberty showing some leg may have distracted some of us though :)

What's fascinating is what the graders seem to focus on - it's not the shield. It's not the bodice. Yours looks beautiful btw. I'll note that I posted this one because I think it's overgraded. I'm going to post one I just got back that I think is undergraded for comparison and funsies.

I'll go 30. Not much detail in that drapery.
    Nice looking coin nonetheless

Nice challenge... a VF-35 but definitely a squeaker.
