My purchases see more "action" than I do . . . . . . (USPS rant)

    From Akron OH to Atlanta GA via Lost Angeles . . . . . . ?

    Seriously?

    Two Day Delivery now on it's 10th day . . . . . .

The Akron Distribution hub is the most screwed up place in the country, Postal Service wise. I never seem to get "timely" delivery from anything going through there, or the Colorado distribution hub.

    Colorado I can understand with all the hemp and stuff . . . . . . .

I don't think any USPS clerk will tell you anymore that they guarantee any service they charge for will actually make it in the time stated. Most will tell you if everything goes well, maybe. For me it's Atlanta and Jersey City that are my horror story. And I don't think they ever ironed out the glitches with the new sorting machines that came out like 3 years ago. These machines actually read more often the addressee label instead of the address to the destination, resulting in mail going round and round and round. Often times it takes a call to your postmaster to do an "Exception" to halt the package and get it back on track.

I've had several USPS orders that traveled various routes around the country on its way to WI. Usually it's with orders from Anaheim CA. Typically the orders go from Anaheim to Oshkosh WI. When they don't, it's a crap shoot as to when I get them. Once, one went to Jackson MS and sat there for a week before getting resurrected from the dead. Another went to Cleveland and then to a small town east of there where it seemed to disappear for several weeks before making it back to WI.

Even the mail tries to avoid Oshkosh. Sad. Home of a great old American institution and work clothes supplier at one time, though.

well they are cutting costs by any means possible, and if that means they don't have the staff to process it and move it to where it's intended, it's better to send it out to somewhere completely wrong, and keep it moving, than to let it all back up.

it's all they've been doing since the end of last year to handle it when it's too much in one spot to handle, send it somewhere else and keep it moving.

Imagine if all of that stuff just stopped moving completely for 8 days and no scanning instead, and 7 more days of mail on top of it. You'd never hope to see it again.
Priority mail express has a money back guarantee, I'd just wait for it to deliver before demanding your money back. LOL.

I don't think in the last 8 months they can manage to do anything on time, I'd ship it that way and catch em in the "30 mins or less pizza loophole" with their guarantee, but they are going to play the severe weather delay nonsense for sure to not have to pay up. bet on that.

Had that happen last winter and watched as my item got to within 50 miles of my location before being sent far far away. Comical.
    But not really.

Yeah I recently ordered something and it was to be delivered via USPS. I live outside of LA. The shipment started in TX then actually came to LA then up to San Francisco then back down to LA then delivered to my house. Very bizarre!

Here's a route i am still trying to figger out. I ordered coins from Michigan. The coin went to OHIO then to Memphis Tennessee, then (wait for it) UTAH, then Back to Memphis, then to Mississippi and my home. Just a question, Is U-T-A-H spelled any where CLOSE to M-i-s-s-i-s-s-i-p-p-i?

The heck of it is that you know it was a USPS worker that filmed that wayward box for three minutes rather than rescuing the situation.

I actually have a good story about USPS. I bought a rather rare book on Punic Coins (no, not Jenkins) and somehow my ZIP code got re-labeled to the next door ZIP code. As my street address was correct and no such address exists in the other ZIP code, my book bounced between the Phoenix main post office and the incorrect ZIP code 5 times. I sent an email via the USPS and within 20 minutes received a phone call from the Manager of my post office. He actually drove to the neighboring post office to personally pick up my package and hand delivered to my home.
    Incredibly good service.
I asked him to discontinue certified mail from the IRS to me but he won't go that far.

What are complaining about? USPS told you that it’s on route to the next location. Like that’s a big help. Lol They are one messed up outfit and getting worse. So glad I’m retired from them.

When I retired I moved to a rural location in the north woods of WI. Houses along the first 2 miles of my dead end town road have mailboxes at the end of their driveways. At the time I moved there, anyone who lived along the last 0.6 miles of the road had their mailboxes in a group at the 2 mile mark. History shows that the road used to end there 40 years ago. Granted, at the time I moved there I was the only year round resident in that group. Since I had to walk a quarter mile to my mailbox and shovel snow away from it in the winter, I asked the local postmaster several years ago if I could move my mailbox down the road to near my driveway. The postmaster granted my request. Last summer several now full time residents further down the road requested their mailboxes to be moved by their driveways. The local postmaster was going to grant the requests by had to deny them after Dejoy became the new postmaster general. Basically, lengthening the route would add another mile to the rural mail carriers route and cost the post office more money. Since Dejoy became postmaster I've noticed a degradation in delivery times. I absolutely don't blame the average postal worker; one of my neighbors is a retired postal worker. The issues we have now are most likely a result of the top level management.

P.S. Sorry for the rant. I'm old and get no respect!
