If you spend enough money with Littleton, they give you free coins via the reward points they do. Watch out though because in some instances it would be cheaper to just outright buy the coin then spend the money to get the points. You get double points if you use the online catalog too. Unfortunatly, most of what I want to order is not on the online catalog, and that would be supplies.
You must have seen that same show on TV. They interviewed many of those in the Chicago area that just begged for money. One actually said he makes about $500/day. Naturally wouldn't let them show his face. If those are all coins, I too wonder if those people look for valuable ones.
I've never thried this one but my neighbor spends a lot of time on something called Graigs list or something like that. He has already found people that gave him a washer, dryer, refrigerator and lots of other things and all FREE. In every instance it was just come pick it up. Others have told me they too get stuff there free. I wonder if coins are also there. I'm not a big web site surfer person so I miss out on lots of stuff I guess.
how about those penny trays they have in convenience stores?? that's about the only place I see free money.
Back in the 70's I used to buy rolls of BU wheat cents, put them in 1.5x1.5 flips and staple the flip to my business card. Gave them out to kids that were with their parents at shows. One show I gave out over 200 and ran out before the show was over. Good for advertising and helped get young people interested in collecting coins.
There's a guy in my neighborhood who scours the streets for coins left on the ground. He found enough in a year's time to purchase a British gold sovereign.
