From the US Mint: During the initial pre-order window for the Morgan & Peace Dollars, the Mint experienced an extraordinarily high volume of BOT traffic. These BOTs were programmed to conduct technology-driven transactions which caused significant interference with many transactions by Mint customers. To address the issue, the Mint paused the pre-order windows for the remaining Morgan and Peace products until the BOT issues could be resolved. The Mint has now identified a solution that we expect will mitigate most of the issues caused by BOT traffic. Although we are working diligently to put that solution in place, the launch dates for American Eagle Silver and Gold Coins will also be affected. To further increase the opportunity to purchase these high demand products, the Mint will also adjust the household order limits for the new American Eagle Silver and Gold Coins and the remaining Morgan and Peace silver dollars. While these steps will mitigate the impact of BOT traffic and improve overall access to these very popular products, the supply of silver still limits the U.S. Mint’s ability to completely satisfy demand. As a result, not everyone will be able to purchase the coins of their choice. The revised launch schedules are presented below. Please note the decision to move the American Eagle Silver and Gold product launches ahead of the remaining Morgan and Peace pre-order windows. This decision was based on the Morgan and Peace products’ unavailability to ship until October. Moving up the American Eagle products creates the least disruption for our customers. Our intent is to greatly improve on our ability to deliver the utmost positive U.S. Mint experience that our customers deserve. The launch dates for the newly-redesigned American Eagle Silver and Gold Coins are as follows: American Eagle SILVER PROOF COIN – W (21EAN), originally scheduled to go on sale 7/1, will now go on sale 7/20 American Eagle GOLD PROOF 1 OZ (21EBN), GOLD PROOF 1/2 OZ (21ECN), GOLD PROOF 1/4 OZ. That is some outstanding gobbldygobbledness/cya/ohoh writing and editing, right there!!!!! With the added bonus of sucking you in and being enthralled with the murder mystery format, so you read all the way to the end: HHOL(y....krap)
As a non American living in Europe, it reads to me as a technically driven excuse for their exceedingly poor ordering system. But, from their view, by reducing the amount you can now receive they should be able to fulfill the dealers requirements.
Interesting use of capitalization on the term "BOT"...... almost as if they don't mean bots, but an abbreviation for something else "that's bot with a capital BOT!" hahahhaa
Just as a politician would do, they say in bits and pieces what they think everyone wants to hear. In the end the statements mean nothing.
All that does is SIGNIFICANTLY increase the website traffic which causes even more problems. 5ish is about as good of a compromise as you can really get, 3 at the lowest. That also helps keep after market prices suppressed a bit, the more middle men have to be paid for inventory the more the prices get jacked up
Thank you, I'm doing my part by ignoring the 2021 dated coins and instead looking for really nice original 1921 dated coins.
Pretty simple first limit to 1 second let us add to enrollment with that limit of one then open it up to all
There are a lot of possible solutions. But, federal agencies and politicians only recognize those that get them campaign funds and other benefits. It does nothing to rationalize with such organizations.
Perfect, then all the same people that claim favoritism can start campaigns claiming the lottery is corrupt and nothing but insider deals and scream from the roof tops for missing a product a dealer is selling. It's a no win situation for the mint. The current system is the best way which yes does take some luck but also generally awards effort and persistence
Every coin ever sold by anyone besides the mint is an aftermarket mint coin. Are collectors supposed to just love watching things drop in value for moderns? Am I allowed to sell seated or bust coins I don't want anymore? That's an aftermarket mint coin..............
