Hi all, and Merry Christmas! I just got back from my step mother's. She gave my son a Littleton folder that has a place for one of each of the fifty state coins as well as the six territory coins. she also got a roll that has one of each of the fifty state quarters in MS- 60 or better. The problem is she is now recieving "approval packets". I have never dealt with littleton and there is nothing I could find in the packet that tells how to unsubscribe. Any help would be appreciated Thanks Richard
I've done this before. Just tell her to send all the coins back, and write somewhere on the invoice "I do not wish to receive any more coins." That should take care of it.
It was probab;y ten years ago, but this is what I did. They had sent me some coins I didn't order. I sent them back, and if I remember correctly there was somewhere on the form to discontinue the sending of unordered items. I also called them as a backup. They did stop and I never had more come.
Writing it on the invoice or including a separate letter will usually do it. If it doesn't you can send a certified letter (so you have legal proof you sent it) and state that you want to be taken off the list for the approval shipment and that any shipments sent after XX/XX/2010 will be considered to be a gift. (make sure the date you mention is far enough in the future that the letter has time to get there and at least a day or two more.) If they still keep coming enjoy the gifts. If they try and dun you for payment or turn you over to a collection agency you have grounds for a suit for damage to your reputation and credit rating because they were legally notified and the law says that unsolicited merchandise may be kept as a gift and you don't have to pay for it. (that's why you keep a copy of the letter and the certification receipt.)
Simply indicating that you no longer wish to receive them on the invoice will stop future mailings. Same thing happened to me a few months ago, and I have not received anything further from them after returning them back with a note.
I phoned them (Summer 2005). The young (?) lady taking my call was very courteous and, from that moment on, the approval packages stopped. Clinker
Some years back I sent them a letter with their prices and another companies prices on exact coins and grades. I havn't heard from them since...
