I just came across what I thought was a penny but instead on the face it has an outer ring which says TREASURY at the top and UNITED STATES MINT at the bottom. It has a shield in the middle that has a scale, a chevron with 13 stars, and a key. The back side has a large D in the middle, UNCIRCULATED across the top, and DENVER across the bottom. What is this coin?

Looked at what you mentioned on eBay. The shield is the same, but my coin is penny size, copper and has a different backside.

Just found it by following your lead to eBay. It's called a Denver mint token. Thanks.
