I was just looking at it I'm not sure but it looks to have some doubling on the back for sure. I have more that year they look nothing a like even the front don't look the same.look at E Pluribus Unum and Monticello five cents and united States of America.
It's not in the best shape found it in a roll just looks different I done know it ant nothing pretty. I got some old jefferson nickel that are in nice put up in 2x2 I have the 39 but I'm looking for the 39d is the one I want just found a 40and41not to bad off shape consider how old they are but I got some that ant seen cirlation in a long time.
There is no more in these old jefferson coins that sad they have been left out not less it's a war nickel got them two I'm still finding them in rolls even buffalo nickels too just found a 1919 with the date still on it hard to find got a bunch of these coins no dates have no idea what I may have might be key dates don't even know.
Sorry, not doubling in the true sense. This is from a very worn die as is evident by the metal flow (striations).
While your photos are good, it isn't good enough to tell for sure, but it looks like there might be some lamination issues on Jefferson's head. Could be just PMD, but see if you can get a toothpick to "catch" on the edge of those lines. Without further evidence of just being damage, it may be a lam issue.
