Another small batch of Roman coins - help needed please. (There were many more with Latin inscriptions, that I have worked out, but I struggle making sense of the Greek inscriptions.) Even if you can clarify which emperor each is from, I can probably do the rest from Wildwinds and/or Sear. Thank you.
Fascinating. The obverses need to be posted each separately. This way we can read better and easier. Good Luck.
Since none of the experts--there are several on CT--have responded yet, I'll share what limited knowledge I have about these. These tetradrachms kept getting smaller over time. The fact that these are all similar in size suggests that they are all from the same 20-year period. I think I can read --TIA-- on the bottom left coin, which is probably Diocletian. So I would start by checking to see which others are Diocletian and then working backwards through Carus and his kids, Probus, Florian and then Tacitus.
The 1st coin might be Diocletian too. For comparison one in my collection. Diocletian, Year 1, Emmett 4083.
Nice haul of ALexandrian tets. I see at least 2 Diocletians in there and maybe a Carus. And I agree they could all be from the same period starting with Claudius II and going through Aurelian, Probus, etc. down to the time of Diocletian and Maximian. Diocletian: Maximianus:
That is great - thanks! I have them all nailed down, except some of the regnal years do not match with Wildwinds. I assume some varieties are just not listed there.
