But hey, as long as you have coins to talk to and spend the holidays with, there's nothing to worry about. MERRY CHRISTMAS!

  5. I'm sorry to hear that. I will be spending it with my mom and my brother, the same as I have done since I lost my dad to cancer.

we don't do a big Christmas so I'm going to check and see if the Funeral Home I do work for would like for me to go up and do the stuff there on Christmas so the other guys can be at home with their families.

I'll be home with the big box of penny rolls that I just got from eBay. And I have no 2X2's.

My daughter drove up from san antone with her bf and two dogs, my son and other daughter will be over also, we may be stuck inside the whole time as we are having an ice storm now, I am hoping for a game of monopoly but will settle for a little conversation, they are watching some goofy movie now, and do not appreciate my pithy comments on the movie so i am giving them a break and letting them watch their movie, they enjoy their movie, I en\joy cointalk

Typically tomorrow I will spend about 2 hours at most with my family. Then christmas day I usually do not see them - but I have a feeling my brother is going to want to go to the casino. And I am off all next week - the first time in my 25+ years I have taken that whole last week off. It is usually the best time to work, since nobody is around you can catch up on a months worth of work. :)

Hi ! Coinman. I kinda know how you feel. When I was working on assignments, I was stuck in some city for months at a time.

Since it's Christmas, why not walk over to the local Church and enjoy the company of people who have a spirit of joy and comfort.

I can't wait for it to be overwith, it started in September this year.. Stores pushing all their chineese made junk at ya.. Christmas isn't what it used to be.. its not about the birth of christ anymore, its about big business, so for me it doesn't matter if I'm alone or in a crowd.. I have the ole lady, my dog & chickens.. can't ask for more than that...

hiho off to work we go

If you have a good dog you are never really alone. And a dog will always appreciate his/her Christmas gift, even if it's just an old shoe to chew on.

One of my son's is home from college, and one is stuck in Los Angeles. I am working Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and the day after. Heck, I'm grateful simply to have a job...

I'm spending tonight alone, not for a lack of invites.. but because I have to make 2 cheesecakes for tomorrow. Got a nice bottle of Sapphire and some cranberry juice to keep me company, hope I don't burn my house down lol

Tomorrow is family day.. apart from seeing my kids and watching them open their gifts I am not really looking forward to it.

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

PersianGuy... what kind of cheesecakes? I love making cheesecake, sometimes original, sometimes dark chocolate, but my addition to the cheesecake world is a really cool lavender cheesecake. Very interesting, very different, and very good!

I'm enjoying this Christmas more than I have in a long time, mostly because I completely missed last Christmas. Last year I was on an oil rig from November 30th through January 4th, so I didn't get any Christmas. Going over to the parents house, my brother is back from college, it will be a good time. Now I'm just hoping my mom got me the mint set like she does every year!

Lavender cheesecake? Sounds really good.. care to share more details?

This year I am making a cherry swirl cheesecake, with the fruit inside the cake. It's the one everyone in my family loves. I think if I didn't have one in my hand when I walk in on Christmas they wouldn't open the door lol

It is great to read all these replies. Glad to see that there are some that continue with family tradition of gathering for the Holiday.

Glad to see that some that don't have those commitments are thoughtful and offer this time to do some work to keep things up to date.

To all those who are like me on this holiday, treat yourself to something special ! and yes that even means doing what Persian guy is doing! LOL Don't burn your house down and definitely don't drive.

This is now a perfect time for me to wish all of you a Happy and Safe Holiday.

    TOM
