    If the coin were a chinese "replica" the obverse would be stamped "Replica" .

    So, your opinion would be genuine it seems.

    I voted au55, to me the coin does not look have the typical consistent lines that indicate a cleaning, there might have been a dipping in the past. But since coin collecting seemed to have a period of encouraging blast white coins that might pass especially on an issue that is over 140 years old.

    Thanks for the contest, I am thinking about having one once my photo posting skill at least becomes rudimentary.

    MANY Chinese counterfeits are not stamped COPY or REPLICA. I have learned this the hard way. I was merely being nice calling it a replica and not a counterfeit...

    The more I look at it though the more I think it's genuine but still cleaned.

    collected coin for only a couples years now...pulled out my numismatic grading book and the dresses wrickles aren't matching up...i guess FAKE
