I found this coin at work, but I don't know if it is a die error/clad layer error...or just some paint?

It picked up what's there from circulation.

Not an error just some toning or corrosion.

    Environmental Toning damage.
Not a mint error of any kind.

First, welcome to the neighborhood, Bryan!

If it was missing the clad layer, you would not see the silvery areas on all of the high points. It was more likely caused by environmental and circulation issues.

This is what you would expect to see....

Welcome to CT Bryan. Your question has already been answered, so my adding that it is just ED, environmental damage, and has NAV, no added value, may not be much help. Good luck on your hunts.
