    I don't know if you can really assess a true value for something like this. It is worth exactly what someone will pay.

    Really??? Why do you say unlucky? Myself and I'm sure alot of people on here have spent thousands on a one cent piece. A collectable is worth what an individual wants to spend wether it be a piece of currency, stamp, card, or even a token. A collector will spend what it takes to complete a set. IMHO

    I don't know if you're interested, but many of the original Hapa Haneri cents were supposedly thrown into volcanoes by the natives. Seems the wreath on the reverse made them acceptable as offerings to the volcano gods. Some say that is what accounts for the lack of these coins available to collectors.

    abe= Interesting, I didn't even read that part until today. :D I was saying that I wish I had one of the originals.
